Cornus kousa 'chinensis'
This spectacular small garden tree produces masses of white flower bracts in May that will slowly fade to pinkish hues. Foliage is oval with a pointed tip and dark green turning vivid orange and red autumn colors.
More About Cornus kousa 'chinensis'
- var. chinensis is almost identical in appearance to the species except that its showy bracts are slightly larger than those of the species
- Bloom occurs in late spring (several weeks after flowering dogwood)
Peculiar pink fruits are also produced by Cornus kousa chinensis in the autumn. Planted in a sunny, or partially shady position this small flowering dogwood tree, growing to just 12' x 12' it will not fail to impress
