Green dragon plants have only one leaf, which is subdivided into leaflets in a horseshoe arrangement. Found throughout Indiana and from New England to Minnesota and Kansas and to Florida and Texas.

Early spring-flowering plant of eastern North America resembling therelated jack-in-the-pulpit but having digitate leaves, slender greenishyellow spathe and elongated spadix. The unusual green dragon has an arc of long leaflets on top of its stem.
